Policy Engagement

Our second Knowledge Exchange project was titled: Folk Arts and Cultural Policy in the UK’s devolved Nations, Regions and the Isle of Man. After a summer of visiting our partners in their respective locations, being able to bring them all to Sheffield for a full day of working and thinking together was a real privilege. We looked for common ground, learned about policy making and regional differences, and discussed how regional folk arts organisation can work together to make the best of the Department for Culture, Media and Sport’s implementation of UNESCO’s 2003 Convention on Intangible Cultural Heritage.

Below you can find slides livescribed by Chris from Nifty Fox Creative, in English, Welsh, Scots, Scottish Gaelic, Irish Gaelic, Cornish, and Manx. You can also listen to our podcast featuring discussions with each of the project partners.
